A cosy untangle rope game: move the plugs and untie every knot. 200 rope puzzles in 10 chapters, with locked plugs, undo, hints and stars for solving in the fewest moves.
Untie Me is an untangle rope game played online in your browser: colourful ropes hang from a bar, twisted around each other, and every one is asking to be untied. Move a plug to a free socket, watch the ropes swing over and under, and when a rope hangs free of all the others it disappears.
There are 200 handmade rope puzzles in 10 chapters of 20. The first ones have two ropes and a single crossing; later boards grow to as many as seven ropes, with twists, mirrored knots and locked plugs you have to work around. Every level is checked by a solver, so every knot can be untied, and each board gives you a set number of moves.
If you like knot puzzles, rope puzzle games or classic logic puzzles such as Sudoku and Tower of Hanoi, Untie Me is a calm, colourful brain teaser with no timer.
How to play this untangle rope game
Tap or click a rope's plug to lift it, then tap a free socket to move it there, or drag the plug straight to the socket. The lifted plug always passes in front of the ropes it crosses, so every move adds or removes crossings. A rope with no crossings left is free, and it disappears.
Untie every rope to clear the level. Each board has a move limit; if you run out, undo a move or try again. Locked plugs can't move at all, so plan your route around them.
Clear the board in the par number of moves for 3 stars. Stuck? A hint shows a next move towards the solution, and undo takes back as many moves as you like.

Tips
- Start with the rope at the front: moving it back often clears a crossing straight away.
- Watch which rope is in front at each crossing: the plug you lift always passes in front.
- Keep a free socket open near the middle so plugs can pass both ways.
- Work around locked plugs: move the other ropes over and under them.
- Going for 3 stars? Undo a wasted move straight away instead of playing on.
- Use a hint to see the next move, then try to finish the board yourself.
FAQ
How do you play an untangle rope game?
Move the ropes' plugs between sockets until no rope crosses another. In Untie Me you tap a plug and then a free socket; each rope that ends up free disappears, and the level is cleared when every rope is gone.
Is every level solvable?
Yes. Every one of the 200 levels has been checked by a solver, and the hint always shows a move that leads to a solution.
How many levels are in Untie Me?
200 rope puzzles in 10 chapters of 20, from two ropes in the first levels to as many as seven later on.
Is there a timer?
No. Each board has a move limit instead, and undo is unlimited, so you can think as long as you like.
Can I play Untie Me online without downloading?
Yes. It runs in your browser on a computer, phone or tablet, with touch or a mouse, and saves your progress in that browser.
